New Opportunities at VIX

Since May 2008 the VIX provides its participants and prospects new features, described as follows. We presented them at our Meet the Vienna Internet eXchange Event on September 4, 2008.

The redundant and interconnected dual-site peering infrastructure of VIX is provided and operated by the University of Vienna. Participants have the choice to connect to VIX at either or both locations, by colocating their peering routers or connecting them remotely.

Participants with equal-speed, dual-site connections may be granted a 30% discount.
